Privacy Policy — Aura

Aura is a personal mood journal app. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights over it.

1. Data We Collect

Account data (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google, Aura receives from Google:

Your display name
Your email address
Your profile photo URL

Sign-in is entirely optional. Aura works in full guest mode with no account required.

Mood data

When you log a mood entry, Aura stores:

The mood you selected
An optional short note (if you add one)
The date and time of the entry

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Mode	Where data is stored
Guest (no sign-in)	On your device only, in a local database
Signed in	On your device and in your private Firebase Firestore document, accessible only to your account

No mood data is ever shared with other users or made publicly accessible.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to provide the app’s features — displaying your mood history, calculating streaks, and showing trends. It is never:

Sold to third parties
Used for advertising
Shared with anyone other than you
Used to train AI or machine learning models

4. Third-Party Services

Aura uses the following Google/Firebase services:

Firebase Authentication — handles Google Sign-In securely. Google Privacy Policy
Cloud Firestore — stores your mood entries when signed in. Data is stored in Google’s cloud infrastructure.

No other third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs are used.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data at any time:

Delete all data — permanently removes all mood entries from your device and from the cloud; your account stays active (Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Data)
Delete account — permanently removes your account and all associated data everywhere (Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account)
Sign out — signs you out while keeping your local data intact

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained until you delete it. Deleting your account or all data removes it permanently and cannot be undone.

7. Children’s Privacy

Aura is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
